Nature As A Muse, Kim Vorperian

Kimberly Vorperian is a painter, installation artist, and sculptor making abstracted folk art in Central Florida. Her work is about the ethereal connection between man, nature and spirit. She creates as an act of resilience and preservation of her Armenian and Eastern European heritage and a hope for a future founded on mutual respect for all beings. Using earthy materials and leaning on traditional crafting techniques she draws inspiration from her continued journey with farming, mental health, and spirituality. With paint, vintage textiles, wood, glass, and copper she weaves together a narrative that expresses love and awe for the beauty, ferociousness, mystery and healing power of coexisting with nature and spirit. Kimberly exhibits across North America and teaches art classes and workshops in her local community. In 2010 she created a successful artisan soap company called Bodhi Basics which she still operates today. Kimberly currently lives in St Petersburg, Florida with her partner Will, daughter Ziazan, and dog Loretta. The whole family commutes back and forth to Lakeland where they own and operate their 5 acre organic farm.
