This transformative project seeks to expand Downtown Kingsbury to become a community hub.
“I never thought a piece of utopia could be found in the middle of Texas.”

Since we first planted our roots in 2012, we have been passionate about strengthening our community through arts and culture, working closely with the Kingsbury City Council.
Kingsbury Commons— Action
Our Town
In September of 2025 we were awarded the Our Town Grant, courtesy of the National Endowment for the Arts. This Grant has allowed us to start one of our largest public projects yet.
This grant has allowed us to kick off the first phase of the Kingsbury Commons Project. We have been laying the plans for a perennial food forest on the Habitable Spaces Campus, as well as a community space surrounding the City Hall. The City Hall will feature a community garden, a solar pavilion, water collection cisterns, and a sculptural water feature. Across the duration of this grant project, we will be hosting workshops on soil cultivation, planting, tile making, and more. Our end-of-year show in 2026 and 2027 will feature work produced by our resident artists as well as photos from the year. To pull everything together, at the end of the project, we will host a showing of a feature-length documentary which will include exclusive footage from behind-the-scenes.
