Bridging the Contemporary Scene with South Central Texas.
We aim to bridge the gap between rural and urban cultural production by establishing a platform in Kingsbury where contemporary artists can exhibit work, engage with new audiences, and build professional networks.

“Over the years, Habitable Spaces has been a place for collaboration and experimentation. With our new Nexus gallery initiative, we’re creating a space where our neighbors and artists can connect, share stories, and celebrate what makes our community unique.”
— Alison Heinemeier, co-founder of Habitable Spaces.
The primary goal of the Nexus Gallery is to strengthen the visibility and vitality of rural arts infrastructure while providing professional opportunities for regional artists.
With a focus on our 30 mile radius, the Nexus Gallery seeks to celebrate the creativity and diversity of local talent, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Habitable Spaces as it expands its mission to support and showcase the arts in rural Texas.
The construction of the gallery was made possible with a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts, and we plan to showcase artwork that explores a range of works including painting, sculpture, art books and installation art—all reflecting the vibrant cultural life of the region.
